The journal Social Influence invites submissions for its Open Access Article Collection titled Registered Proof of Concept Articles in Social Influence. The collection introduces an innovative article format designed to lower barriers to ambitious and resource-intensive social influence research by enabling researchers to present and evaluate the feasibility of novel research questions and methodologies before conducting large-scale studies.

Many innovative ideas in social psychology require complex experimental designs, behavioural measures, specialised samples, or substantial resources that may not be readily accessible. Consequently, researchers often rely on self-report measures and online surveys. This new article format seeks to promote methodological innovation by prioritising feasibility, novelty, transparency, and collaboration.

Registered Proof of Concept articles allow scholars to conduct preliminary investigations, openly share research materials, and invite collaborative efforts that can transform promising ideas into fully developed research programmes. Importantly, Social Influence also commits to publishing follow-up studies that directly build on these initial proof-of-concept contributions.

Submissions are welcomed across the full spectrum of social influence research, including but not limited to:

• Persuasion and attitude change
• Conformity and social norms
• Compliance and social influence strategies
• Power and influence processes
• Coalition formation and group dynamics
• Social exclusion and inclusion
• Group processes and collective behaviour
• Behavioural measures in real-world and experimental contexts
• Novel methodologies and innovative experimental designs in social psychology

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁

• Emphasis on feasibility and innovation rather than fully completed large-scale studies
• Encouragement of transparent sharing of materials and methods
• Promotion of methodological diversity and collaborative research networks
• Opportunities for follow-up studies that directly extend proof-of-concept findings
• Support for researchers with ambitious ideas but limited access to resources or specialised samples

𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀

• Submissions should present a clear research question and a feasible methodological design.
• Studies should include sufficient sampling to demonstrate viability.
• Authors are expected to openly share research materials and conclude with a call for collaboration.
• The collection particularly encourages research that moves beyond self-reported intentions and incorporates behavioural measures.
• Only the first stage of the Registered Proof of Concept article is required by the submission deadline.

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴

• Open Access publication with global visibility and reach
• Rigorous peer review process for all accepted articles
• Rapid online publication and dissemination
• Opportunity to initiate collaborative, large-scale research programmes from innovative early-stage ideas
