𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies such as blockchain, quantum computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics are transforming the global transition toward green and sustainable economic development. These technologies are enabling renewable energy optimization, improving resource efficiency, strengthening circular economy systems, supporting climate resilience, and driving innovation for sustainable production and consumption.

At the same time, AI presents significant sustainability challenges. Growing demand for computational infrastructure increases energy and water consumption, while unequal access to digital technologies can widen economic and social disparities. This Special Issue seeks to explore both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI-enabled green development and identify pathways for sustainable, inclusive, and resilient economic growth.

Researchers from economics, environmental sciences, technology, public policy, and social sciences are invited to contribute interdisciplinary perspectives addressing the future of AI-driven sustainability.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

The intersection of AI and sustainability represents one of the most important research frontiers of the coming decade. While emerging technologies have enormous potential to accelerate green transitions, they also raise critical concerns related to environmental footprints, equity, governance, and long-term societal impacts.

This Special Issue aims to foster evidence-based research that helps policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and communities harness technological innovation while ensuring environmental responsibility and inclusive development.
