Overview
This special issue highlights the rapid growth of Passive House as a key strategy for low-carbon and climate-resilient buildings. It focuses on climate-adapted design, digital and AI-driven optimisation, renewable integration, retrofitting, and occupant-centric performance assessment. The issue aims to bring together interdisciplinary research and real-world applications that support healthier, more comfortable, and ultra-low-energy buildings.
Scope
The call welcomes studies on Passive House design, building physics, envelope performance, renovation strategies, indoor environmental quality, and climate-sensitive built environments. It also emphasizes building performance simulation, adaptive technologies, urban heat mitigation, renewable energy integration, and deep renovation. Research on both scientific methods and practical applications is encouraged.
Submission Information
Submissions are open from 9 January 2026 to 6 January 2027. Manuscripts should be submitted through Editorial Manager, and authors must select “VSI: SCSADV_Passive House” as the article type. All submissions will be peer reviewed, and accepted papers will be posted online immediately and also included in the special issue collection.
