Reflections on the value of management accounting in organizations: Overcoming contemporary challenges

This special issue invites critical reflections on the role and value of management accounting (MA) in today’s evolving and complex organizations. It focuses on how MA supports managerial decision‑making and broader management work amid challenges such as digitalization and AI; ethical and sustainable concerns; and shifting global and local contexts. The SI especially welcomes qualitative, practice‑based work that re‑examines MA foundations and explores emerging roles of management accounting and control in diverse organizational settings.
