Introduction
Public Money & Management invites submissions for a Special Issue on “Cultural Organizations in Transition—Rethinking Management, Governance, and Organizational Change.”
Cultural organizations—including museums, heritage institutions, festivals, theatres, media organizations, and creative enterprises—play a vital role in preserving cultural value, fostering public participation, and supporting creative ecosystems. As organizations with significant public missions, they are increasingly facing pressures arising from changing funding structures, growing accountability demands, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and evolving societal expectations.
This Special Issue seeks to explore how cultural organizations can sustain their public mission while navigating organizational, technological, and sustainability transitions. Contributions are invited that examine innovative approaches to management, governance, organizational design, leadership, and public value creation within cultural institutions.

Submission Guidelines
All submissions must follow the official Public Money & Management author guidelines and be submitted through the journal’s ScholarOne submission system.
Authors are required to declare any conflicts of interest, including affiliations with lobby groups, advocacy organizations, or similar entities.
Accepted articles will be published online with a DOI upon acceptance and will not need to wait for the complete Special Issue publication.
