Journal of Service Management invites submissions for its Special Issue on How Can Service Management Research Address "Grand Challenges" to Create Social Impact?
About the Special Issue
Service management plays a vital role in improving access to essential services such as healthcare, education, housing, employment, and social support. This Special Issue explores how service management research can move beyond traditional organisational outcomes to generate measurable social impact by addressing complex societal challenges, including inequality, climate change, public health, poverty, and the refugee crisis.
The issue seeks applied, evidence-based research that demonstrates how service management frameworks, processes, and service ecosystems can create positive societal change. Contributions should adopt a strength-based approach to vulnerability and provide practical insights into designing resilient, equitable, and inclusive service systems capable of addressing today's grand challenges.
