About the Special Issue
The Journal of Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism invites submissions for a continuing series of forum publications exploring how policing, intelligence, and counter terrorism are evolving in response to global upheaval. Ongoing conflicts, changing geopolitical priorities, financial pressures, and shifting institutional landscapes are reshaping both professional practice and academic research across these fields.
This Special Issue seeks to stimulate cross-disciplinary and international dialogue on the future of policing, intelligence, and counter terrorism. It welcomes contributions that critically examine emerging challenges, policy responses, operational transformations, technological developments, and research directions in an increasingly complex global environment.
Scope and Topics of Interest
Submissions may address, but are not limited to:
Operational practice and adaptation within law enforcement and intelligence agencies
Domestic and international policing and intelligence collaboration
Policy, governance, and legislative implications of funding reductions
Evolution of policing, intelligence, and counter terrorism research

Submission Guidelines
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 30 August 2026
Commentary-style articles of 2,000–5,000 words are invited.
Papers will be reviewed upon submission and considered on a rolling basis.
Accepted manuscripts will be published continuously throughout the year.
Contributions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers across disciplines are encouraged.
Authors should follow the Journal of Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism author guidelines and submit manuscripts through the journal's online submission system.
