Overview
This special issue focuses on the role of academic research in addressing stakeholder needs in economic criminology. It aims to bring together accessible, reflective, theoretical, and evidence-based perspectives on current issues in economic crime so they can inform real-world responses. The call is aligned with the mission of the International Society of Economic Criminology to support the fight against economic crime through knowledge sharing and research.
Scope
The issue encourages geographically diverse submissions and welcomes contributions from business and management, criminology, computer science, economics, law, political science, and sociology. It seeks to create a practical and interdisciplinary forum where scholars and professionals can share ideas that improve policy, law enforcement, and professional decision-making. Key themes include cryptocurrency and AI, beneficial ownership and transparency, money laundering, fraud, asset recovery, financial investigation, terrorism financing, tax crime, and economic crime regulation or deregulation.
Submission Information
Submissions should be made through the journal’s online submission system using the provided link. The deadline is 28/01/2027. The call states that all articles will be reviewed by no fewer than two independent experts, and the special issue is intended to highlight practical, accessible work with clear implications for tackling economic crime.
