ABOUT THIS SPECIAL ISSUE
This special issue aims to provide a global platform for government officials, practitioners, researchers, academics, professionals, and students to disseminate their work through publication in an international research journal. The collection of papers will focus โ though not be limited โ to advancing technologies, skills, and knowledge in building surveying and facilities management, particularly in the areas of design, monitoring, and performance evaluation through the exchange of best practices and innovative approaches.
The special issue moves beyond conventional facility operations to explore how emerging technologies, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable strategies can enhance building performance and user well-being across diverse global contexts.
โ ๏ธ Please note: This special issue is exclusively intended for manuscripts selected from the International Building Surveying Conference (IBSC) 2025.
SCOPE & THEME AREAS
We invite submissions addressing (but not limited to) the following themes:
Building surveying โ Advances in surveying methodologies, inspection techniques, condition assessment, and building pathology.
Building maintenance, asset and facilities management โ Strategies, frameworks, and innovations in maintaining and managing built assets and facilities.
Legal aspects in facilities management โ Legal frameworks, compliance, and regulatory considerations in building and facilities management practice.
Risk management โ Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks in building surveying and facilities management contexts.
Project management โ Best practices, tools, and case studies in managing building and facilities-related projects.
Property management โ Approaches to managing residential, commercial, and institutional properties effectively and sustainably.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) โ Applications of BIM in facilities management, asset lifecycle management, and building performance monitoring.
Contracts in construction and facilities management โ Contract types, procurement strategies, and dispute resolution in building and FM practice.
Professional practice โ Evolving professional standards, ethics, and competencies in building surveying and facilities management.
