CALL FOR PAPERS
Decision Support Systems for Sustainable and Resilient Transitions

Journal: Journal of Decision Systems
Publisher: Taylor & Francis Group – An Informa Business
Manuscript Deadline: 30 September 2026

Introduction

In an era marked by uncertainty, disruptive technological advancements, environmental challenges, geopolitical instability, and rapidly changing workforce requirements, organizations, societies, and supply chains must continuously adapt while pursuing sustainability, resilience, and responsible innovation.

Decision Support Systems (DSS) have emerged as critical enablers of evidence-based, timely, and strategic decision-making in increasingly complex and dynamic environments. From advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to sustainability planning and supply chain resilience, DSS technologies are helping organizations navigate transitions while balancing operational efficiency with long-term sustainability goals.

This Special Issue of the Journal of Decision Systems seeks to explore the growing role of Decision Support Systems in enabling sustainable and resilient transitions across businesses, organizations, societies, and global supply chains.

Scope & Significance

Inspired by the themes of the ICDSST 2026 Conference organized by the Euro Working Group on Decision Support Systems (EWG-DSS), this Special Issue aims to advance both theoretical and practical understanding of DSS-enabled transitions.

The issue welcomes contributions that investigate how DSS frameworks, models, methodologies, tools, and applications support organizations in responding to technological disruption, sustainability imperatives, workforce transformation, and resilience challenges.

Researchers are invited to contribute conceptual, methodological, empirical, and case-based studies that demonstrate how DSS can facilitate sustainable growth, resilience, and effective decision-making in rapidly evolving environments.
