The International Journal of Tourism Cities invites submissions for its Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence in Tourism Cities. This issue aims to examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming urban tourism experiences, destination management, hospitality operations, and smart city governance.

AI technologies such as generative AI, predictive analytics, chatbots, virtual guides, augmented reality, multilingual translation systems, and robotic services are increasingly reshaping tourism cities by enhancing visitor engagement, improving accessibility, and enabling data-driven decision-making. At the same time, their rapid adoption raises critical concerns surrounding privacy, surveillance, algorithmic bias, inclusivity, and ethical governance.

The Special Issue seeks interdisciplinary contributions that advance theoretical and practical understanding of AI-driven tourism ecosystems while promoting sustainable, inclusive, and intelligent urban tourism development.
