This special issue examines how AI can be integrated with system engineering to solve complex management and engineering problems. It focuses on system modeling, optimization, decision-making, resilience, and intelligent control in dynamic and interconnected environments.

The call invites both theoretical and applied contributions, especially those that show how AI can improve management science and engineering management in areas such as supply chains, logistics, healthcare, smart cities, sustainable development, and human-AI collaboration. It also welcomes work on governance issues in AI-integrated systems.

ScopeThe special issue welcomes original research articles and review papers on AI-enhanced decision support systems, machine learning and data-driven modeling, optimization of complex systems, risk and uncertainty analysis, intelligent control, adaptive management, green engineering, human-AI collaboration, and AI applications in supply chain, logistics, healthcare, and smart city management.

Submission detailsManuscripts must follow the journal’s formatting guidelines and be submitted through the IJMSEM system. Authors should select the special issue “System Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.” Key dates are: submission deadline 31 July 2026, final acceptance deadline 31 January 2027, online publication in March 2027, and inclusion in the May 2027 issue.
