Sustainable Mentoring in Education: Advancing Research, Theory, and Practice

Journal: International Journal of Mentoring and Coaching in Education
Publisher: Emerald Publishing
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 05 January 2027

International Journal of Mentoring and Coaching in Education invites submissions for its Special Issue on Sustainable Mentoring in Education: Advancing Research, Theory, and Practice.

About the Special Issue

This Special Issue aims to advance empirical, conceptual, and practice-based knowledge of sustainable mentoring across education, higher education, research training, and professional development. While mentoring is widely recognised for supporting learning, career progression, wellbeing, and retention, relatively little research has explored how its benefits can be sustained over the long term for individuals, organisations, and professional communities.

The issue welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that examine sustainable mentoring through theoretical, empirical, comparative, and practice-oriented perspectives. It particularly encourages research that informs mentoring design, policy, organisational resilience, workforce sustainability, equity, inclusion, and lifelong professional learning in an evolving educational landscape.
