Call for Papers
Common-Good Human Resource Management: Global and Comparative Perspectives
Journal: The International Journal of Human Resource Management
Publisher: Taylor & Francis
Submission Deadline: 30 June 2026

Overview
This special issue examines common-good HRM as a distinct form of sustainable HRM, with a strong focus on global comparison across the Global North and South. It argues that firms have a moral responsibility to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals while balancing common-good and personal-good performance. The issue also seeks to clarify whether CGHRM is a robust paradigm or risks becoming another managerial fad.

Detailed Scope
The call invites work on the distinctiveness of CGHRM constructs, practices, and outcomes; the role of internal and external situational factors; and how institutions and stakeholder pressures shape implementation. It is especially interested in comparative studies across countries, organizational types, and firm sizes, including businesses, NGOs, public sector organizations, SMEs, and multinational corporations. The issue also welcomes research on indigenous CGHRM models in the Global South, religious and spiritual influences, HR department influence, and how common-good firms achieve balanced social and financial performance.

Submission Information
The submission window runs from 1 May 2026 to 30 June 2026. Authors should submit through ScholarOne and indicate the special issue title in both the system and the cover letter. The editors especially welcome industry-academia collaboration and inductive or mixed-method designs, particularly in single-country and comparative contexts. A paper development workshop is available at the 4th Common Good HRM International Conference 2026, though attendance is optional.
