This special issue examines how AI, generative AI, large language models, and big data are changing open innovation by reshaping knowledge search, partner selection, collaboration, orchestration, and governance. It focuses on how AI can improve scouting, mapping, and coordination, while also raising concerns about transparency, bias, control, and unequal access to data and computing resources.

Submission details
The submission window runs from 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2026. Papers will undergo editorial screening and double-blind peer review, and the special issue is expected to be published in Spring 2028.
