Global South Literature in and out of South Asia

Journal: Global South Literary Studies
Publisher: Routledge – Taylor & Francis Group

Manuscript Submission Deadline: 01 August 2026

Global South Literary Studies invites high-quality submissions for its Special Issue on Global South Literature in and out of South Asia.

About the Special Issue

This Special Issue explores how writers and communities from across the Global South—including Africa, Latin America, China, and the Middle East—have imagined South Asia through literary expression. Moving beyond Eurocentric and elite South Asian perspectives, it examines how marginalized communities negotiate identity, migration, belonging, solidarity, displacement, and cultural exchange across the Global South.

The issue encourages interdisciplinary scholarship that repositions South Asia within South–South and South-East conversations while investigating literary encounters shaped by colonial histories, diaspora, race, and postcolonial identities.
