Abstract Submission Deadline: 20 April 2026
Full Paper Submission Deadline: 10 August 2026
Introduction
Across global South cities, rising temperatures, extreme heat, urban flooding, water scarcity, and deteriorating air quality severely impact health, lives, and livelihoods, disproportionately affecting vulnerable, poor, and marginalized communities. Cities remain economic hubs driving innovation and infrastructure while paradoxically intensifying ecological crises through unplanned construction, carbon emissions, loss of green cover and wetlands, and urban heat island effects. This issue examines urban ecological transitions amid multidimensional poverty, inequality, and governance fragmentation.
