The European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology invites submissions for a Special Issue celebrating the 30th anniversary of Affective Events Theory (AET). Originally developed by Weiss and Cropanzano (1996), AET has become one of the most influential frameworks for understanding how workplace events shape employee emotions, attitudes, and behaviors.
This Special Issue seeks to revisit and extend AET in the context of modern work environments characterized by digitalization, artificial intelligence, hybrid work arrangements, virtual collaboration, datafication, and knowledge-intensive work. Contributors are encouraged to explore how affective micro-events influence employee well-being, creativity, performance, engagement, and organizational outcomes in contemporary workplaces.
The issue welcomes empirical studies, theoretical contributions, and review papers that advance affective science and organizational psychology through innovative methodologies and interdisciplinary perspectives.
