The European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) invites submissions for its Special Issue on โNative IS Theories.โ As digital technologies increasingly reshape organizational and human experiences, existing theoretical frameworks often struggle to explain unprecedented digital phenomena such as generative AI, misinformation, surveillance capitalism, hyperconnectivity, cybersecurity threats, and disruptive technologies.
This Special Issue seeks innovative theorizing that advances Information Systems (IS) scholarship by developing native IS theories capable of describing, explaining, and predicting the complex interactions between digital technologies and social and organizational phenomena. Contributions may either critically engage with existing theories and identify their limitations or propose entirely new theoretical perspectives tailored to emerging IS phenomena.
