Emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, and digital health systems are transforming healthcare worldwide. However, rapid technological advancement is increasingly influenced by shifting political landscapes, evolving regulatory frameworks, governance challenges, and societal concerns regarding ethics, privacy, accountability, and equity.
This Special Issue explores the technological and social shaping of emerging technologies in healthcare, with a particular focus on how governance models, policy interventions, institutional environments, and international uncertainties influence innovation, adoption, and societal outcomes. Researchers are invited to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with healthcare technologies while considering their broader social, economic, and ethical implications.
The Special Issue aims to advance understanding of how emerging technologies can be effectively managed, governed, and implemented to generate sustainable healthcare innovation and societal benefits.
