Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal invites submissions for its Special Issue on “Artificial Intelligence, Employment Inequality, and the Future of Inclusive Work.”
About the Special Issue
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming global labour markets through automation, AI-enabled recruitment, workplace decision-making, and changing skill requirements. While AI can contribute to productivity and job creation, its adoption may also create significant risks of job displacement and deepen existing inequalities in employment.
This Special Issue focuses particularly on how AI-driven changes may disproportionately affect minorities and underrepresented groups, especially workers concentrated in occupations and tasks that are more vulnerable to automation.
The issue seeks to advance theoretical and empirical understanding of AI-related job displacement, algorithmic bias, occupational inequality, reskilling barriers, and inclusive employment practices. It also aims to identify organizational, technological, and policy strategies capable of reducing discriminatory outcomes and supporting more equitable participation in AI-transformed labour markets.
Research from countries beyond traditionally studied Western and developed contexts is particularly encouraged.

AI auditing approaches for reducing adverse impacts
Preferred Research Approaches
The Special Issue welcomes:
Empirical Research
Quantitative and Qualitative Studies
