About the Special Issue
The journal Ethics & Social Welfare invites submissions for its Special Issue titled "Narratives of Ethics in Social Welfare and Social Work: Voices from South Asia."
This Special Issue explores the ethical challenges faced by social workers, community practitioners, development professionals, educators, and researchers across South Asia while working with vulnerable communities in rapidly changing socio-political and economic contexts. As issues such as conflict, displacement, poverty, caste discrimination, religious persecution, migration, environmental crises, and social inequalities continue to shape the region, ethical practice has become increasingly complex and significant.
The editors seek scholarly and practice-based contributions that critically examine ethical dilemmas, community engagement, professional responsibilities, and lived experiences in social welfare and social work. The issue particularly encourages narratives drawn from field experiences, case studies, oral histories, personal accounts, and community-based practice that reflect diverse socio-cultural realities across South Asian countries.
Both traditional academic research articles and practice papers are welcome, providing a platform to document ethics-based practice from local, cultural, educational, and historical perspectives.
