DETAILS
Call for Papers – Dynamic but neglected linkages among tourism, sustainability, public health, and emerging technologies: A call for interdisciplinary management research
Journal: Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration
Publisher: Emerald Publishing
Submission deadline: 31 July 2026
This special issue calls for interdisciplinary research on the interconnected relationships among tourism, sustainability, public health, and emerging technologies. It seeks to move beyond traditional “sightseeing” views of tourism by integrating insights from management, marketing, environmental science, and public health to understand how tourism practices influence environmental outcomes, human wellbeing, and responsible business behaviour. Given tourism’s global scale and post‑pandemic recovery, the SI emphasises an integrated, evidence‑based approach to this dynamic nexus.
Types of research this SI invites
Type of research | Typical focus |
|---|---|
Conceptual / theory‑building | Integrative frameworks linking tourism, sustainability, public health, and technology |
Empirical / mixed‑methods studies | Quantitative and qualitative work on tourism‑driven environmental and health impacts, and technology‑enabled interventions |
Management / practice‑oriented work | Strategy, policy, and governance perspectives on sustainable, health‑responsible tourism |
