Manuscript Submission Deadline: 01 November 2027
Africa Journal of Management invites high-quality submissions for its Special Issue on Finding Afrotopia in Times of Technological Transformation – Toward Pluriversal African Future-Making.
About the Special Issue
Inspired by Felwine Sarr's concept of Afrotopia, this Special Issue explores how Africa can shape its own technological future through indigenous knowledge, pluriversal thinking, and context-specific management practices. Rather than replicating Western development models, the issue encourages research on alternative African modernities that integrate local philosophies, cultures, governance systems, and technological innovation.
The Special Issue seeks conceptual and empirical studies examining how technological transformation—including AI, digital ecosystems, platform economies, entrepreneurship, and future-making practices—can support inclusive, sustainable, and uniquely African pathways to development while addressing challenges such as digital colonialism, inequality, geopolitical influence, and technological dependency.
