Journal: Artificial Intelligence for a Sustainable Built Environment
Publisher: Emerald Publishing
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 31 December 2026
Artificial Intelligence for a Sustainable Built Environment invites submissions for its Special Issue on Physics-Informed AI for Infrastructure Resilience.
About the Special Issue
As civil infrastructure becomes increasingly digitized through Building Information Modelling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), digital twins, IoT devices, and structural health monitoring technologies, there is a growing need to integrate engineering knowledge with artificial intelligence. This Special Issue focuses on developing physics-informed AI approaches that combine engineering principles with advanced data-driven models to improve infrastructure resilience, lifecycle management, and decision-making.
The issue welcomes research that bridges the gap between digital infrastructure frameworks and AI analytics by embedding structural mechanics, material behaviour, geotechnics, and engineering constraints into machine learning models. Contributions addressing sustainable infrastructure, predictive maintenance, climate resilience, digital twins, and intelligent asset management are particularly encouraged.
