About the Special Issue
As archives operate within increasingly interconnected organizational, technological, and environmental systems, archival professionals face new challenges in governance, ethics, digital preservation, risk management, and institutional collaboration. This Special Issue explores how archival practice is evolving in response to growing complexity, emphasizing sustainable stewardship, accountability, and responsible innovation.
The issue welcomes reflective, comparative, and practice-based research that examines the changing role of archives within broader institutional infrastructures. Contributions are encouraged from professionals and researchers working across archives, records management, digital preservation, conservation, audiovisual preservation, information governance, and related disciplines.

Abstract Submission Deadline: 30 May 2026
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 21 August 2026
Authors should first submit a proposal of up to 500 words, including the proposed article outline, title, up to five keywords, and author affiliations.
Full articles should be no more than 8,000 words, including footnotes and references.
All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review.
Manuscripts must follow the journal's official Instructions for Authors and be submitted through the journal's submission process.
Invitation to submit a full manuscript does not guarantee publication.
