About the Special Issue

The International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship (IJGE) invites submissions for its special issue titled “Extending the Boundaries of Women’s Entrepreneurship.”

This special issue aims to advance the field by exploring entrepreneurship at the edge—research that challenges conventional perspectives and expands our understanding of how gender influences entrepreneurial access, survival, and growth across different contexts.

Scope and Themes

We seek original and high-quality papers that examine women’s entrepreneurship in diverse:

• Geographic regions
• Cultural and institutional settings
• Sectoral and economic environments

Submissions may address:

• Intersectionality of identity and experience, including race, class, and education
• Indigenous women entrepreneurs and their unique experiences
• Research-informed teaching and pedagogical innovations
• Policy design and knowledge transfer supporting women-led ventures

Focus and Contribution

The editors particularly encourage contributions that use innovative methodologies and theoretical frameworks to:

• Expand existing conceptual boundaries
• Challenge mainstream assumptions
• Inspire future research within the Diana research community
• Deepen understanding of women’s entrepreneurship as a dynamic and globally relevant phenomenon
