The Asian Development Bank (ADB), in collaboration with the ADB Institute and the Department of Economics, HKUST Business School, is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Asian Economic Development Conference (AEDC) 2026.

The Asian Economic Development Conference is a highly regarded international academic conference that brings together leading economists, researchers, policymakers, and development practitioners to discuss emerging research and policy challenges related to economic development in Asia.

Conference Focus

The conference welcomes high-quality research papers addressing a wide range of topics related to Asian economic development, including but not limited to:

• Economic growth and structural transformation
• Poverty, inequality, and social development
• Development finance and macroeconomic stability
• Labor markets, human capital, and education
• Trade, globalization, and regional integration
• Climate change, sustainability, and development policy
